Our Story
Jenny's Leashes began on the sidelines of dog agility trials.
When my daughter McKenzie qualified for the AKC Junior Would Team at just fourteen years old, we needed a way to fund four summers of international competition in Europe. As a single mom, that meant getting creative. So we started making handmade fleece and Minky leashes and tug toys for high-drive sport dogs, the kind that thrive on tug as a reward.
I sold them out of the trunk of my carat every trial we attended. Word spread quickly, and what started as fundraising became something more. Those leashes helped carry us to Europe four summers in a row.
Years later, my son encouraged me to begin again. He quietly opened an Etsy shop for me after seeing how much people loved the leash I made for his own puppy. Orders poured in. What began as a necessity became a small business, and a creative rhythm I deeply value. Today, each leash and tug toy is till handmade from start to finish here in the Pacific Northwest. It's a simple product, but it carries a story of grit, family and the belief that when you need a way forward, you can make one.
